Bride invites cousin for marriage then receives this annoying text

A bride does not appreciate the recent unsolicited advice that she received before her wedding.

In a message shared with the R/Weddinghaming forum of Reddit, the woman explained how a family member at her wedding guest list fueled an uncomfortable situation after she told her that she is “too young to get married”.

Initially she did not invite the cousin, but after the bride, 34, and her fiancé, 40, recently received some financial support from the family, the couple could expand their guest list a little and recording a few “Mandatory invitations,” She wrote – including her cousin, who is in the late 40s.

“He is a bit uncomfortable and tends to say inappropriate things,” the bride wrote. “My fiancée and I initially did not invite him to our wedding because we wanted to keep our figures low.”

After expanding an invitation for him a few days ago, the bride received confirmation of his presence shortly thereafter. A day ago she received a weird Facebook message from him.

“Thank you for the invitation for your wedding! Do you know for sure what you are starting? You are too young,” he wrote.

So she replied: “Actually, you are right. I am not entirely sure. Maybe the wedding cancel. I will let you know”, to which he let the bride read.

Those in the comments did not defend the cousinity of the cousin, but noted that it could be his attempted humor – even if it really missed the goal. Some suggested that he could see her as a ‘baby cousin’ and meant it as a Joky compliment.

“It is never intended as malignant and we know this about him,” wrote a commentator about a family member similar to the cousin described in the post. “We know he fades awkwardly, so we don’t punish him for it.”
